Christmas Countdown Has Begun

Wow! I really didn't mean to stay away from the blog for so long.

Jim, the kids and I took our annual trip to the deer lease in Arkansas the week of Thanksgiving. When we returned, we had Brooke and Maddux while their parents were honeymooning at Disney World for their fifth anniversary. Kelli picked them up last Saturday and I spent Sunday on the couch!

So now...I find myself in HYPER Christmas Countdown Mode!

18 Days To Go:

Last night I made simple Christmas candy.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get much done since I had to stop by the grocery store on the way home from work.

Thankfully, all that is needed for this delicious 'salty-sweet' treat is a box of Ritz crackers, peanut butter and almond bark.

Take two Ritz crackers, spread peanut butter on one and top with the other. Dip in almond bark. I got adventurous and used hazlenut spread on half of them and dipped those in chocolate bark.

Now I just have to stay out of them until the kids come over to decorate the tree on Sunday!

17 Days To Go:

Today I did the shopping for our company Christmas party.

I made stops at Bed, Bath & Beyond; Target; Hobby Lobby; WalMart; Randall's and Sam's.

I highly recommend Hobby Lobby's wrapping paper!

It is thick and doesn't tear easily. It has a grid printed on the back for easy cutting. And...most of their patterns can be used even after Christmas!

One hundred square feet sells for $7.99 a roll...but I buy it when they mark it 50% off. Making it a bargain in my book.

I have some pictures to share from our Thanksgiving trip and from the kids visit. I will try to get those posted over the next week.

I hope your Christmas Countdown is full of peace and joy!
