Morning Conversations

Do you ever find yourself deeply engrossed in conversation with yourself as you get dressed in the mornings?

Yesterday mine went something like this:

"I'm running a little late...need to hurry up and get out the door."

"Hmmm, what to wear?"

"No outside meetings today; so comfortable is the way to go."

"Jeans and a pullover sweater."

"No, it is supposed to be very nice temperatures today. Wear something cute and with a hint of spring."

"Jeans and the top I bought for California."

"Yeah!"

"Uggs?"

"No, wear the dress boots. I haven't worn them in awhile and I don't have a lot of walking on today's agenda."

"Make-up?"

"Just eye shadow and mascara...remember, no meetings today."

"Oh, yeah. Hair?"

"It's fine."

"Jacket? I don't really have one to match this outfit. Should I grab my jean jacket?"

"It is going to be beautiful today. Plus, I only have to walk from the back door to the truck and then into the office. I don't need a jacket."

"Okay."

I got into work and we meet with Derrick about possibly adding on to our offices. (Technically, an outside meeting...but since he is my son-in-law and has seen me in my robe and pajamas with no makeup, he doesn't count.)

I sit down to my computer and lo and behold, what do I see?

Two tickets are available for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo TONIGHT. KENNY CHESNEY! Do I want them?

Let's just say, Jim had to snuggle me up for a good 15 minutes so I could defrost when I got home around midnight last night and I have blisters on the bottoms of my feet this morning.

But, man, was it worth it!

ah, yes, those fun conversation with myself - just hate it when it happens at 2:00 AM and I can't stop talking in my head so I can go back to sleep - ha!

I hear you on that one, Mrs. Stacy... I think i should keep a pen and paper next to my bed so I can write everything down and hammer out the details in the morning, then I could go back to sleep

Conversation with self is always fun but a little strange for me. But I do, do it!

I hope you had fun with Mr. Chesney last night. Doug is a big fan of country music, especially Trace Adkins and Sugarland. I would love to take him to one of their concerts one of these days.
