He came home with us on Monday. It took a U-haul to get him to Texas!
Jim got Ernie on his trip to Montana last October. Ernie took a six month holiday in Arkansas before completing his journey.
He is massive! I told Jim that he is going to have to build me a house around him.

welcome Earnie... building a house around him sounds good... it looks like we will have to limbo under him to get to the living room.
wow, he is huge!! was he an expensive addition to the family? i always hear how going on hunts to get big ones like ernie are not cheap!

he is named Ernie because my dad named my papaws buck Bert many many years ago.
Ernie didn't come cheap...but it was something that Jim had wanted to do for a long time. As Kelli said,when my grandfather died, my dad gave me one of his mounts which Jim named Bert...so the elk is now Ernie!
